PROCESS
Play. Curiosity. Trial and error. And somewhere in there, I lose track of time.
I start with curiosity. I paint, draw, cover things up, make mistakes, try something else and see what happens. I work with acrylic, ink, charcoal, oil pastel and Posca. Building layers. Following accidents.I don’t begin with a fixed image in mind. At some point, I start looking. A figure. A face. An animal. A shape I didn’t plan. I follow some of what I find and leave other things unresolved.
In a way, I’m asking you to do exactly what I did while making the painting: look again.
That freedom to explore is a big part of why I paint. It’s where I find joy, balance and that feeling of being completely in the moment.
